Today is National Libraries day. We caught up with Gayton Library's Artist-in-Residence, Jackie Morris to discuss illustrating, writing, and finding the right editor.

From the archive: Last April, we met the superb poet, spoken word artist, playwright, novelist and general wordsmith, Joelle Taylor. Who better, to call on for thoughts about using art to change the world?

Jake Smith studied Drama and Theatre Practice at the University of Hull, graduating with first-class honours. He began his career at Hull Truck Theatre and was a founding member of Assemble Fest, a large-scale theatre festival that launched following Hull's win of the City of Culture campaign. He is currently the Trainee Director in residence at Chichester Festival Theatre, one of the UK's flagship theatres with an international reputation for producing work of the highest quality, ranging from large scale musicals to distinguished dramas.

The Oska Bright Film Festival started today in Brighton. The festival showcases films from filmmakers and artists with learning disabilities and is run by Carousel, the UK organisation who create opportunities for learning disabled artists.
