Arts Award on Voice

This week the very first Film Expo South takes place at the AGEA bowl in Southampton. For those who don't know, this is Southampton's first film convention, and it features an amazing line up of talks from filmmakers and experts.

By offering a variety of tools, materials and workshops to museum professionals, Kids in Museums have been able to implement change for young visitors nationally.

On the 13th January 2016 I organised a small performance-based evening in Diss for our company Unit Twenty Three!

The first piece of art that changed the world for me was Christopher Bruce's Ghost Dances. I came across this when studying GCSE Dance and it has stuck with me since.

Music does much more than just sound good. It can have a profound impact on your mind, body and soul.

I know for certain that the power of the arts can rebel against the world in a variety of different ways. For instance, art in the 1990s was used to present "broken" or "grotesque" imagery which at the time reflected the economic struggles and the dissatisfied and rebellious youth at that time. But what about today in 2016? Does art of our time need to completely change our current state, or will it only encourage our demise?

I HAD A DREAM (the other day) that one day there would be a place, where film makers from all over the country could join and network. And that day will be February 4th 2016 at the Film Expo South in Southampton.

The scene is the plush Whitehall Banqueting suite, a £300 a-seat Mencap fundraising do featuring a meal and a jazz style cabaret hosted by Michael Parkinson and Lord Brian Rix.

Well, time flies when you're having fun, especially when you're an apprentice. Since the last blog, I've handled more responsibility, whilst learning and fully appreciating the world of work!
