Interview with comedian Patrick Spicer
"When I started doing stand-up, I did a sort of character and used that to hide how I felt and what I actually thought about things, but as I’ve gotten more comfortable on stage I now use stand-up to shamelessly over-share all my deepest fears and humiliations, which is allowed because I’m an important artist."

Interview with Myra DuBois
"Social media has levelled the playing field and given a platform to anyone with internet access. People are being held to account for their words and actions. ‘Cancel Culture’ is the sound of surprise on hearing a retort for the first time."

Interview with Dan Wye, AKA Séayoncé

Interview with musical comedian Katie Pritchard
"I do think however, that if things aren’t changed soon, the answer will become “The thing that differentiates Edinburgh Fringe from other festivals is that only acts with loads of money can do it”, and it is vitally important for the arts (and especially in comedy) that that doesn’t happen!"

30 July 2022
Interview with comic Jordan Gray
"There's a bit in The Dark Knight where the Joker burns a pile of cash. If that scene looked appealing to you, then come on up to Edinburgh. If not, then you're not ready for it - and are therefore a healthy person."

30 July 2022
Interview with comedian Larry Dean
I nearly got expelled from school a couple of times. My art teacher made me take up drama and said I could let all my energy out there.
-

"At my first Glastonbury, I slept in a one room tent with two mates. At my first Edinburgh, I slept on a yoga mat with no pillow all month and shared a room with four boys. So I guess other festivals have better sleeping conditions."

"The pandemic was unequivocally awful for the arts, and not being able to perform or rehearse in the same room was a real struggle. That said, I think it's taught us to give creative processes the time they need, because time is the one thing we did have."

"Well since this show has been cancelled eight times, yes, I approach all shows now with a large dose of scepticism. Every time I get on stage, I’m relieved rather than stressed."
-
29 July 2022
Interview with comedian Garrett Millerick
"It’s a big and interesting topic, but I suspect you’re asking if I think you should be able to keep a Netflix deal after getting your old lad out in a dressing room? Which isn’t as interesting or nuanced a topic."
-
29 July 2022

-

I didn't hate it, which is something. Given how long this has been in production though I had hoped for something a little bit more polished? I am interested to see what DC do with it though, especially now James Gunn is overseeing it all!
