This is Part C - i have chosen to look at Georgia O'keefe's paintings and i have stuck some in my logbook and written why i like them.
She was born in 1887 and she died in 1986. She lived in America.
She was known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers and New Mexico landscapes.
She painted nature in the ways that it made her feel. She made flowers look how she wanted and also just did patterns from the flowers which make them look abstract. I like her paintings because they are abstract and bold. She uses striking colours in the patterns that she paints. Her paintings such as 'Red Hills with flowers' are the landscapes where she lived. I like the painting 'red and pink' because it is just those colours. She has used the different shades and lightness and darkness to create shapes. She focuses on the shapes of nature, not the actual thing. i like to try that when I am taking pictures.
Great research Non. Are you able to say why you chose to look at this artist in particular?
