Unit 1 A: Snippets of a graphic novel

Graphic novel project

Hey guys! Here is a collection of pages I've been working on. The original idea was to create a full graphic novel, but due to time constraints and difficulty with making a coherent story, I've decided to illustrate as many scenes as possible that I had in mind to demonstrate what I've learned over the past year in developing my artistic skills and also what I've discovered in writing graphic novels specifically.

Therefore, the three scenes in this album are not linked to each other in story, but mainly in characters and locations. The scenes vary in length from an almost full colour one being the longest, to one 2 page scene that's a little more experimental with different characters and layouts. I primarily used my beloved Biros. For colour I used water colours and white acrylic for shiny bits!

Read left to right. There are two pages per A4 page.

I love how creative this is! The graphic novel style work is incredibly imaginative, and both the colour and biro work looks well developed. Can’t wait to see how the finished novel turns out!!

This is an amazing example of a graphic novel and shows the true imagination of the author. The storyline is clear and comedic and the techniques used work extremely well! I’m looking forward to see a full book!

Hi Lois! Would you mind adding some of the images to your article? Especially as the header image.

I like your ideas! You can definitely see the progression from early artwork to more detailed images. Do you think you will finish them at some point?
