Shropshire Local Reviewers

Would you like to go to theatre shows, festivals or music events - for FREE? If you're interested in film, TV, podcasting, creative media and reviewing in arts and culture then get in touch!

We have four new sessions happening on 7th & 21st May and 4th & 18th June 2025 at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury.

If you're aged 16 – 25 years and live in Shropshire you can become a local reviewer and learn from professionals, access events, training and opportunities and develop your own opinion pieces with Voice. Either turn up on the first session or contact Judy to find out more!

We're also working with Ludlow Assembly Rooms and Arts Alive in Shropshire and meet monthly, you're welcome to come along and meet like minded people.

You don’t have to know about the local arts scene or how to review - just register your interest or email [email protected] to find out more.

    Film Review: Jaws (1975)

This is the film that made many people afraid to go into the water. Starring Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw, Jaws was the intense thriller that launched the career of director Steven Spielberg and was the first summer blockbuster.

Hamlet by The Lord Chamberlain's Men at Shrewsbury Castle: Review

    by Mystaya Brémaud Contributor

In this outdoors production that harks back to historical production styles, the actors create a dynamic and lively show that feels more like a modern off-the-cuff comedy than a 16th Century tragedy. A fun and engaging show that is not to be missed!

The Haunting of Blaine Manor: Review

    by Carmen Wiggan Local Reviewer

This play has all the trappings of your classic ghost story: spooky haunted manor – check. Cast of suspicious characters – check. Moody lighting (to highlight the odd creaky antiques) – check! Where this play falls short – it’s not scary.
