List three areas where you think you’ve improved.
1. What- I have improved on composing photos
How and Why- Taking lots of pictures to find the right one and looking back and seeing what I have done and what has made one particular picture better than others that I have taken- good tree and bad tree
Now I am understanding what good and bad photos have in common and what makes one photo stand out from the others. I’m finally understanding what it takes and how to compose a good picture or scene.
2. What- I have loved playing with shadows and seeing how the surface they fall on can make the picture more interesting.
How and Why – by finding meaningful ways to combine the shadow with the surface they fall on - eg. The shadows of the alphabet falling on the pages of a book. Objects that make good shadows for photographs are stencils, fruit such as pineapples, and musical instruments such as my Tenor Horn.
3. What - I am much better at taking close up pictures now – I have spent a lot of time practicing focusing on the centre of flowers with my camera and I have managed to take some great shots of insects on the flowers as well as the flower itself.
How and why- by being patient and waiting for the right moment to get the photo as good as possible, also when it is windy you have to hold the flower and it is really hard to do that without getting you in it.
What did you enjoy most about your arts activity?
I have enjoyed taking lots of photographs and learning how to do it so that the picture is better than it would have been before. I have also enjoyed taking pictures of the sky at night as well as at the beach with the reflections of the sky in the water and the wet sand. I have discovered that I have a really good eye for taking photographs.
Was there anything about your arts activity you didn’t enjoy?
No I enjoyed doing it all.
What other arts activities would you like to do next?
In the future I would like to do more painting so that I can learn how to combine and mix colours.
What stunning photographs!
By focusing on what you wanted to improve it seems that you have really developed your photography skills. I hope that you continue to develop your talent for photography in the future.
Well done for completing Part A.
