Active Listening and Graphic Scores: Turning sounds in to images
Starting with a series of short listening exercises to focus our ears and tune in to our individual and collective sonic surroundings, we will then explore different ways to interpret sound in a visual format. I will share my own methods of graphic scoring with an emphasis on using and manipulating materials from your own listening environment within your work. I will also introduce participants to a few examples from the array of sound technology I use within my work revealing ways to listen in to hidden sounds from your environment.
