Birmingham International

This review is about when I went to a cake show in Birmingham

Birmingham International

Part C2 Exhibition/show

Why did you choose to attend this exhibition/show? I decided to go to birmingham cake international, because i wanted to learn more about artists that do sugarcraft as a living to been inspired and get some new ideas.

Who were the artists and what do they create? I saw a cake that Emma Jayne had made of the trapeze artist from the greatest showman and I saw Phil and Christine doing a demo that was really interesting on how to make sticky toffee cake and German buttercream and it was so tasty.

What were your first impressions? I thought that it was very, at the entrance there was a trapeze artist made from cake which was really impressive, the layout was better than the Cake and Bake show in London, but the stages were to close together so you couldn't hear that well.

Did you find anything particularly interesting to your personally? Yes, I thought all the cakes were so interesting but my favourite cake was a Cinderella cake that was just so detailed it was amazing

What did you learn which  will help you to achieve your challenge? I learnt how to make an elf and a teddy bear out of fondant, I found that really fun to do.167a18490708649feceb7cea348ab733a79e3eb8.jpg

Did you enjoy the experience overall? Why? Yes, i really liked doing all the workshops and seeing all the people from the show “Extreme cake makers”. but it was a bit disappointing because most of the cakes were closed of for judging so you could not see many of them I think it would have been better to go on the Saturday or Sunday not the Friday when the judging was over.

That trapeze artists is made from cake!? That is very impressive!

Did you learn any useful tips? Did it inspire you to make your own cakes and experiment with icing at home?
