On Wednesday 22nd August, I visited the Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery. I was blown away by the size of the building, exhibits that were on show and history of the lovely town of Doncaster. I went inside I saw the classic Ford Cars and the detail that they had on them were amazing because I could see the stitching in the seats and in one of the classic cars there was like a 2 seated sofa from the drivers side all the way to the passenger side with arm rests and made of leather.

Next exhibit was a toy of Paddington Bear. The first Paddington Bear stuffed toy was made in Doncaster at a factory in Adwick dubbed as the 'Bear Garden'.The bear was made by Gabrielle Designs, a small business run by Shirley and Eddie Clarkson. The first prototype bear was made as Christmas presents for their children Joanna and Jeremy. Jeremy would later go on to be a well-known television presenter.This Paddington Bear toy is normally on display at another museum called Cusworth Hall and Museum.

The next exhibit was from an artist called J.F. Herring and he was famous for painting horses but not only that he was a coach driver, decorator and painter but horses were his passion. He painted a race that happened in Doncaster which started out as a race amongst friends and finished up as the Great St Leger that happens every year. September 1920s the St Leger attracted 200'000 people.

The next exhibit was two A1 steam Locomotives in a work shop and that was painted by Terence Cuneo and the detail he put into that was so amazing I imagined myself working in the workshop and being part of the British Railway industry.

The final exhibit depicted the Mayor of Doncaster and his daughter and son in law painted by William Brooke. The detail was so incredible and the colours the artist used were rich and made them all feel big and important but on the daughter's dress there is a petal that has fallen from a flower that indicates things will come to a end.
