Young Associates 2018

Applications for the Young Associates Team are now open for 2018!

Young Associates 2018

What is this?

The Young Associates will work with Unit Twenty Three; the social enterprise who runs DissFest, to become the leaders in supporting community & arts activity we’re involved in. The team will be part of the Unit Twenty Three family and have equal influence over our work in the community, delivering some of it and informing it. The team is a voluntary training programme; and you don’t have to pay us anything to be involved either.

What will the team do?

Young Associates will meet regularly to learn new skills in event management & delivery. This will involve practical training and a ‘just do it’ approach whereby the team will work to pull together their first event a few months later.

What training and qualification will I get?

You will develop your confidence, communication, teamwork and leadership skills. We’ll teach you all about planning, promoting, setting-up, delivering and evaluating arts activity and live events. Through this you have the option to work towards an Arts Award. This is a flexible qualification recognised by schools, colleges and universities. There’s no exams to take – It’s all about building your personal portfolio of the work you do with us. This might be online, in a sketchbook, or all on film!

Who’s it for?

The project is aimed at young people aged 14-19 primarily. Ideally from Diss & the surrounding areas. You need to have a desire to learn about running events and a want to get involved.

How can I join the team?

It’s easy. Just download & fill out the Young Associate Interest Form below, and email it over to the team. Sessions won’t start again until January.

What do I do if I have questions?

Simply drop us an email ([email protected]) or call us on 01379 88 22 00.
We’re usually around between 9.00am and 5.30pm Mon-Fri.

I work as the Network Administrator for Voice. Having completed my apprenticeship at Unit Twenty Three, I continue my work supporting Voice and the Youth Network in whatever way possible. Music is my passion, and I will happily talk about all the bands you've probably never heard of!
