24-year-old Sam was nominated for TrinityTalent Class of 2021 in the  Progress category. He achieved his Bronze Arts Award with Prime Theatre. Sam explored his skills in film work, built an audience on YouTube, delivered a workshop on storyboarding for young people and has been involved with arts festivals.

Helen Morley, Sam's art form teacher from Prime Theatre, nominated Sam for TrinityTalent and said: "Sam has developed his art form knowledge and confidence immensely over the course of his Arts Award journey. He has consistently set himself clear goals which he has achieved."

The TrinityTalent panel said: "We can see how Sam has developed his confidence, communication and social skills through his Arts Award. We recognise the impressive variety of creative skills and art forms he's used, and found his work with his story boarding particularly interesting."

The Youth Choice panel said: "Sam really managed to connect with the children he worked with. His leadership skills are strong and it's really inspiring to see his bravery in delivering his project. His story boarding work is really interesting and we can see how much he is learning, studying and how much he will take with him in the future."

How do you feel about being selected to be part of TrinityTalent Class of 2021 and being recognised in this way?

It makes me feel really happy and makes all the hard work worth it.

How do you feel you have developed creatively and artistically in 2021?

My creativity has improved as I have now done so many projects thanks to my Arts Award work and my YouTube Channel

What impact did your Arts Award achievement have on your artistic development?

It has led me to continue working on future Arts Award projects as well as my personal projects.

Has taking part in an Arts Award helped you to develop wider skills, such as communication skills, creativity or confidence?

I feel like working on an Arts Award has made me more creative and has also made me a lot more confident as it has led me to start my own YouTube channel.

What are the next steps for you artistically and creativity in 2022?

To finish my Silver Arts Award and start working on my Gold Arts Award.

What are your longer term aims, for example for your future studies or work?

Not sure yet, maybe working for Prime Theatre as I'm currently doing work experience there.

Have you got any advice for other young people working towards an Arts Award?

If art is something you're passionate about then I'd really recommend doing Arts Award. There's also no deadline so you don't have to worry about rushing to get things done.

Is there anything creative you’re currently working on you’d like to tell us about?

I'm currently working hard on my YouTube channel (Homerstarfan13), where I do reviews and 'top tens' about things I'm interested in, as well as a series about voice actors.
