Classics from: ‘Footloose’, ‘Shake Your Tail Feather’ and 'Jailhouse Rock' were being performed in The Castle pub, where it was held. As I entered the pub with my friend, it had great positive vibes and everyone was giving the band support, including students and parents.

The band: Aimee, Dan, Patrick, Tom and Reuben were sensational, with not only maintaining their enthusiasm, but also their passion and professionalism. All of the instruments were played to pure perfection, which included: violin, saxophone, drums, keyboard, electric, bass, acoustic guitar and vocals.

Reuben’s drum solo left me gobsmacked with the sheer speed, energy and power. Aimee’s vocals really hit a high note, especially with how she changed vocal range effortlessly between each song and remarkably playing the violin and saxophone. The music style varied, but they performed the songs in order from the 1950's to the present day and were ranging from rock 'n' roll to pop. What really stood out within the event was how quickly and smoothly the band transitioned between each song, not leaving any awkward gaps. They were interacting with the audience which I really enjoyed, especially when Dan was thanking everyone between each song, but also when we were all singing parts of the songs, making me and the audience feel like we were part of the band.

The set was incredible, with monitors being placed at the right position and angle so the music can could be heard throughout the pub. The lighting was positioned behind the band, which gave it a party atmosphere and also giving the band a bit more presence by highlighting them. The instruments were placed well, giving room for the audience to boogie and to make them feel more connected within the music. However, I didn’t have much room to dance, but that was just due to how the band had got most of the audience absorbed into their talent.

I personally found the event overwhelming with excitement and joy, knowing that the band spent so much effort and time into rehearsing and performing. As a student I know the band, as Dan is my current A-Level Graphic Communication teacher and with Aimee being my previous music teacher, it felt weird seeing them in a different setting. This performance really got me and the audience up and dancing and singing and moving to the grooving!

If you love music from the 1950’s to present day, then this band is definitely the perfect way to get into the groove. I would really recommend this band for all events, from: weddings, parties and functions. What a versatile, talented and a great bunch of people!

It's always weird seeing teachers in different settings! I'm 25 now and it's still awkward!

Wow, you really seemed to have enjoyed it...and luckily your teachers seemed to be of high quality in their music to review them, could have been awkward if they weren't - haha ;)
