Soup Birmingham: Wonderful Winter Warmer marketplace

New year, new start.

Soup Birmingham: Wonderful Winter Warmer marketplace

At Birmingham Soup's December event, the theme was 'Wonderful Winter Warmer'. So, as you come, you feel a very friendly, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. 11am is the start time and for the next hour you can network with like minded people. This month they had a few artists stalls where they were selling their products or services. Off the top of my head there was Feed My Creative, handmade purses, canvas bags with hand sourced out fabric and The Bloom Co. making Monochrome prints and patterns for the home, they were selling hand designed cards.

The clock struck midday, there was a more people coming to see what its all about and where your £5 entry goes, allowing the winning pitch to create a project or event that would benefit Birmingham community.

There are four pitchers that speak about the idea for project, each person or group has four minutes to win the votes of the audience, but its not all about the winning. For those who think they're at a loss, they are not, many people want to help give their time, commitment and resources to a project. Myself, I applied to pitch for my 'TIC/zine - Tourettes is Complex' awareness project and I won. I felt that it was about more than funding it was the whole experience.

If you or someone you know who has an idea for a project that will be beneficial for Birmingham community, then apply straight away. The events are now happening bi-monthly, next Birmingham Soup is on February 14th 2017. The deadline for applications to the February Birmingham Soup is Saturday 4 February.

Apply online to pitch an idea.
