The finished artwork looked like Sully, but I wanted to add a bit more detail. I added more colour across the belly and extra features. I added shading under the eyebrows, across the jaw and on the top of the shoulders. Finally, I added a bold background colour that contrasted all the other colours I used to help the character stand out from the page.
I was pleased with how the eyes turned out. I think the eyes are hard to get right most of the time, but this time they just worked. I think it was the white dot reflection in the pupil that made it look more realistic. I would use this again when I do more character drawings.

Whilst I was drawing I had to change the nose a few times. I kept drawing it too blocky and needed to make it softer so it didn’t take over the face. I didn’t like the way I originally drew the mouth. It had his gums on view and I thought it looked too scary. I wanted him to look friendly, like he is in the film.
I haven’t really got the fur texture right. I would like to learn more about the different brush effects on procreate that could help me create a better fur texture.
