The importance of volunteering

Looking to gain more experience in your area of interest within the arts? Why not offer to volunteer!

The importance of volunteering

During my studies at college and University I was busy getting involved volunteering with local theatre companies and organisations to build up my experience outside of my studies. This was also great for boosting my CV and helped my get my first job in the arts and also contributed to my silver Arts Award. Here are my top reasons why you should volunteer:

- Make new friends.

- Networking with companies.

- Shows your passion and commitment to the arts area of interest.

- Looks fantastic on your CV to future potential employers. (including the organisation you are volunteering with who my consider you for a job in the future!)

- Develop new and existing skills in a safe environment.
