Martin Aelred Colgan’s latest release My Love Is Like A Red Red Rose was conceived as part of a proposed TV Series soundtrack about Robert Burns. The Robert Burns soundtrack was commissioned by James Campbell from the independent label Hummdrumm Records and Martin spent the best part of 6 months producing both a soundtrack and a synopsis for a series about the Scottish Bard that includes arrangements and original interpretations of Robert Burns's best-known works.
The Scottish artist was inspired by the late Kenneth McKellar’s traditional version of "My Love Is Like A Red Red Rose". This is the third single release from the album Red Red Rose and makes listeners long for more after the 1-minute 49-second delivery. Better known as a perennial favourite for wedding proposals, the song was released for Valentine’s Day to fit the theme.
