Should art be used as propaganda to aid or provoke war? by Oliver Jones

Your beginning statement gave a very clear understanding of what you wanted to discuss and therefore I was able to keep your intentions in mind throughout the whole argument. I understand the views on the fact that propaganda is something that shouldn't provoke war or discriminate people in any ways, especially as a modern society we should be moving past these presumptions on certain groups of people. However, it is still art, despite some issues with certain messages that propaganda sends, we shouldn't have the right to censor this media as that is taking away someone's ability to express their own opinion.
Overall, I think you were able to show that you have looked, in detailed, about the topic you are talking about and I have learnt a lot on what people think of propaganda. -
Racial Stereotypes Within Film by Daniel Stokes

The topic of your article is something that is heavily talked about throughout many other discussions, so I believe that this contribution was necessary and focusses on an issue that has affected the past as well as the present. I appreciated that you gave many examples for your piece as well as had a wide variety of resources e.g. articles, films etc. therefore I can tell that you have thoroughly researched your topic.
When talking about Asian stereotypes, it was very interesting to here about your own experience's in being influenced by these movies you grew up with, it made the overall argument a lot more personal, which I liked. I would have liked to have seen more of this throughout this article, for example: Has seeing these stereotypes in movies affected you in any way? -

In response to Bee Snellen:
In regards to a cisgender person playing a transgender character I am more open to the idea after learning about the other side to the argument, if the actors does their in depth research (such as Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl) I believe that anyone can play a transgender role respectfully. However, if someone isn't right for the role (no matter how famous they are) then they shouldn't be casted for that role, I believe that a person (trans or not) that could play the role better would have been a more respectful choice. On the other hand, I do appreciate the fact that by having a highly famous actor the idea of trans people is reaching a larger audience, which could lead to more people accepting the community. So to answer your question, I am honestly indecisive about the whole thing as I can understand both sides of the argument.

Do you need to be in touch with your emotions to be a good performer by Antony Hoadley

Your overall article showed a clear view coming from both sides of the argument, and I found it was incredibly interesting to read as it is not a topic that is covered much, as far as I know. Your introduction was direct and allowed me to know immediately what your own opinion of the topic was, which allowed me to have a clear understanding of what your opinion is. I liked how for your first paragraph, you gave someone else's opinion that combated your argument as it shows that you are open to others opinions and it makes it an overall fair argument. The use of visual aids really helped my own understanding of your statistics, therefore more of these would have been appreciated. Having your opinion within this article helped me to be more attached to your piece, however a big criticism would be that I would like you to go into more in depth analysis on this issue, especially for points that agreed with your argument as I was interested to know more about the facts that agreed with your side to the discussion.
Overall, I really enjoyed it and was interested in what you had to say.

After reading your article I can say that I thoroughly agree that videogames should be considered as an artform. As someone who plays games on a frequent basis I can relate to the negative aspects that are received when you tell people how much you play video games, to which I believe to be an unfair attitude.
Your points were very clearly mentioned throughout your article and therefore it was overall an easy read (despite some grammatical errors) I particularly enjoyed the way you compared coding for a game to sketching for physical art pieces, and I would have liked to see more in depth analysis for this ideology as it's something I hadn't heard before.
Overall, from reading this my opinion that games are an art form has only further increased my positive attitude towards gaming
