Posing with a guitar in her hand, her long hair falling far below her waist, and a defiant look in her eyes, Ekaterine is definitely something a little out of the ordinary.
For one, she’s had encouragement from none other than Katie Melua herself, who said, “Ekaterine has the most beautiful soul, I’m so proud she’s a Georgian musician based in London, working as an artist in our music industry.” - and whom Ekaterine considers as something of a mentor.
It’s no surprise that the comparisons between the two are copious. For one, there’s that voice - syrupy smooth but with something utterly unique, something which really can’t be put into words. The reliance on their trusty guitars. The refusal to play by the rules of pop, instead turning to blues (in Katie’s case) or edgy 90s-inspired soft rock (in Ekaterine’s).
Ekaterine has already found the beginnings of her career with her previous singles ‘Love Insane’ and ‘DreamTaun’, which was picked up in more than ten different countries. She has also performed as part of BBC Introducing Live. The stage is truly set for Ekaterine to blast onto the scene in 2021.
Ekaterine’s new single is out 5th March 2021. Follow her at @ekaterine_go on Instagram
