Maidenhead's latest "Art on Street"

Art on street -the one and only place where you can return to your natural state, in your comfortable cloths , walking down a open aired gallery. Hours could fly by, when you are still wondering around few of the hundreds of paintings in the street. Whether or not you are a born artist, you will soon be popping with the ideas to paint next.

Maidenhead's latest "Art on Street"

Art on street began in 2009 with a group of friends who held a shared belief that artists should be able to take control of the way they sell their work, and create new and interesting ways to share their talents with a world outside galleries and traditional art fairs. It all started with 40 brave artists, who came together nin a windy corner of Maidenhead town centre, selling their works directly to the public. Now those 40 creative artists, manage to inspire many budding artists and now there are over 100 artists selling their works.

Art works are displayed (on range of surfaces such as canvas, wood, watercolour paper which is framed) all around the street. There are different collections on each store, and each store was setup by different local artists. Every artists had different ways of expressing their own art.Every stall holder is an artist and they are selling their own work. You can chat to them about the pieces you are interested in, what made them to become an artist , from which age they got the inspiration in art, their learning journey in art, how did they choose that picture to draw, what medium they used, how long they took it paint and few tips for producing a similar painting. All artists are approachable and give us the maximum advice and tips about art.
