Ghost Road Productions are putting together their first multi-city festival, providing the opportunity to some of the UK's most exciting up and coming bands to not only play outside of their home city but to play alongside some established bands. In line with the festival, Ghost Road Productions are offering a mentoring programme aimed specifically toward young people (aged 16-25 years). They are offering an industry-focused Q&A session and four paid work experience opportunities.
Details
The festival has a strong ethos of promoting proportional representation, encouraging creativity, ambition and opportunity for young people. The shows are as follows:
6th November 2021 – Kolis, London
7th November 2021 - Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds
Q&A Session (16-25 years)
The Q&A session is focused on industry professionals outside of the live performance sector. The date of the Q&A will be on 12th May between noon and 2 pm.
Speakers on the zoom call will include:
- Frank Wilkes - Kycker distribution and publishing
- Brandon Wright - Modern Age Music Promotions
- Rob Hirst - These Bloody Thieves Record Label and Fans For Bands PR
- Mari Angelica - Get In Her Ears Blog and Radio Show
- Melli Foris - Play It Loud Artist Management, Blogger and Promotor
- Terri Sian Lugosi - Booking Agent
- Jean Genie - Musician, Promotor and Radio Journo.
- Lauren Forster & Alex Webster - Ghost Road Promotions Festival Bookers
The zoom call is set up to give young people networking opportunity and a chance to ask industry professionals first-hand any questions they have or any advice they might not usually have the chance to ask.
Paid work experience (18-25 years)
Anyone who attends the Zoom Q&A (between the ages of 18-25, this is due to licensing at the venues) will then have the opportunity to apply for a paid work experience day at the festival. Ghost Road Productions have the facility to take two people for the London date (6th November 2021) and two people for the Leeds date (7th November 2021) to work alongside the organisers and shadow in the area that is most applicable to them and will forward their learning in a way they feel the most beneficial.
Ghost Road Productions are really passionate about offering this opportunity to young people as they believe this is the only way the music industry can thrive.
