Review for Voice at Manchester International Festival 2019!

With its focus on bringing artists together to deliver dynamic and innovative new work, MIF is one of the best places to experience the cutting edge of performance and creativity.

Review for Voice at Manchester International Festival 2019!

2019 marks the return of the biennial Manchester International Festival, and we will be covering it!

With such a big event, we're looking for more writers on the streets throughout the month. If you live in Manchester, or know that you’ll be in the area between 4 July and 21 July 2019, we’d love to hear from you.

Who are we looking for?

You must be passionate about performance. You must have a critical mind, and be excited about discovering and analysing new and experimental shows.

We are looking for young writers who can submit work to a tight schedule (publishing reviews the day of, or one day after each show) and who are great time-keepers, making sure that you arrive on time to shows.

You must be aged 16-30 (please note, if you're under 18 you won't have access to 18+ shows).

What will you get?

You will receive a complimentary press ticket to each show that you choose to attend. Once we have confirmed our group of MIF Reporters you can request your show choices on a first come, first served basis.

You will also have a ‘Local Reviewer’ flag added to your account, and your reviews will be posted out on our social media channels, with your Twitter handle if you have an account.

Your work will receive a professional edit by one of Voice's editors, which will be a fantastic learning experience for any keen young writers or journalists.

How to apply

Please email the editor at [email protected]. The deadline for applications is 27 June.

I want more!

If Manchester International Festival isn’t enough for you, and you want to write for Voice more regularly, then we also invite you to become a Voice Contributor. Just like when reviewing for MIF, you will receive access to our Editors Tom and Jack, who will help edit your work to help improve your work, as well as opportunities to review other events and festivals like Edinburgh Fringe!

All the information and benefits of joining our regular writing team can be found here.
