CALL OUT: TOUR ART COMPETITION 2018

The Tour Art Competition has been running since 2013 and offers a platform for emerging artists worldwide to raise their profile as part of Glyndebourne's commitment to visual arts both on and off stage.

CALL OUT: TOUR ART COMPETITION 2018

Love and Money: our theme for 2018
The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Love and Money’, a common thread in the operas on tour in 2018. Cendrillon is the classic fairy tale love story of poor Cinderella being swept off her feet by the dashing (and rich) Prince. In La traviata Violetta gives up her wealthy lover, the Baron, in order to pursue her relationship with the penniless Alfredo.

Artists are invited to submit paintings, drawings, original prints, mixed media, photography and digital pieces for the competition (no video or sculpture). Pieces must work on two levels: as printed artwork on the programme front cover and as an exhibition piece.

PRIZE
The winning artist will see their artwork on the cover of 10,000 copies of the Glyndebourne Tour Programme. Their work will also be part of an exhibition, with all shortlisted works, at Glyndebourne this autumn.

As part of the prize, the winner will receive four free tickets to a world-class opera production at Glyndebourne during the Tour 2018. All shortlisted entrants will also win two free tickets.

Deadline: 11.59pm on 6 July 2018

Entry: No entry fee
