World Heart Beat Music Academy is recruiting a Creative Programmes Assistant (internship). This dynamic role will work with the World Heart Beat team to plan, organise and deliver a wide range of creative, music and professional development projects across their two locations, WHB Kimber Road and WHB Embassy Gardens, nationally and online.
This new role represents a great opportunity for an early career professional to become part of a growing and ambitious music education organisation, passionate about creating opportunities for children and young people across south London to learn and be inspired by music. This role offers a chance to work with a highly skilled team at an exciting and pivotal time for the organisations as we expand into our new music education centre and concert venue at Embassy Gardens.
This position is a twelve-month PAID internship (March 2023-February 2024) supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation. You must be ready to take up the position by 27 March 2023.
As part of this role, you will be part of the https://www.jackpetcheyfoundation.org.uk/opportunities/internships/ - Jack Petchey Internship Programme with other interns from different youth organisations in London and Essex. The programme will involve you attending a launch conference, a six-month update workshop, six professional development workshops through the year and a celebration event at the end of the programme. You will also receive an extra training bursary of £1,000 for approved training, that helps you develop the skills and knowledge you'll need for your future.
You will also be matched with a mentor from another organisation to support you in your professional development. The Jack Petchey Internship Programme training and events will take place in person in London, and you will be expected to take full part in this programme alongside your role and responsibilities at World Heart Beat Music Academy.

Skills and Experience:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Strong administration skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Interest in creative event and project management
Track record of working on projects and events
Good computer skills including working with Microsoft Office functions
Ability to self-start, work independently and be a team player
Able to be flexible and adaptable in approach to tasks and project management
Highly organised and have an attention to detail
Eagerness to learn new skills and contribute ideas
Key responsibilities will include:
Support the coordination and delivery of a range of projects including any online programmes, at two their main locations in Wandsworth, across London and nationally.
Support the development and delivery of the community outreach strategy, working in collaboration with external organisations and schools
Work with the WHB team to plan and deliver events, including local festivals and engagement opportunities
Work with the Marketing and Audience Development department to promote the recruitment of project participants and audiences
Work with Senior Development Manager to increase numbers of students supported on bursaries
Support the delivery of Arts Awards for World Heart Beat students and partner organisations.
Work with the wider team to enhance administration, project management and reporting systems in-line with our new CRM system.
