In the poll asking you for your favourite artists since Arts Award started ten years ago, you voted for Adele as the best musician.

The best musician since 2005 is: Adele

Our poll opened just as Adele hysteria was restarting back in early December and she clearly cashed in her time wisely.

Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008 containing some songs she wrote when she was 16. It sits among the greatest debut albums of all time and, after a performance on Saturday Night Live on US television, brought her global attention and acclaim. Off the back of its success, Adele was awarded the very first BRITs Critics' Choice award - an award which has since become known for bringing artists international success. 19 won her two Grammys from four nominations.

It's been three years since Adele released Skyfall and four years since she released her legendary album, 21. In those three years she's won an Oscar, had a son, and suffered a potentially career-ruining vocal cord haemorrhage. Of course, Adele has won all eight Grammys for which she has been nominated since and including 21 as well as four total BRITs. It spawned two of the UK's biggest selling singles, Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You and was the UK's biggest selling album two years running.

Skyfall was announced the best Bond theme song ever by the TV special, The Nation's Favourite Bond Song, on ITV.

That bring us to her latest album, 25, which has featured heavily in Voice's Weekly News since it was released. Its lead single, Hello (as if you didn't know), set numerous download and streaming records and became an internet phenomenon. The album itself set download and sales records across the world. It's sold millions of units and is still Christmas #1 pretty much everywhere. When We Were Young, written by Adele with Tobias Jesso Jr. will be the next single from the album and she has recently announced a massive world tour - her first.

The force is strong with this one, and she's no intention of slowing down.
