Part B
I started in October 2020.
I did the Mark Crilley How to Draw a Skull (White Pencil on Black Paper) YouTube tutorial.
The tutorial My artwork
In Photoshop I i edited the skull drawing and photoshoped it.
I like photographing nature. I used my own photograph of a tree, changed the colour and cropped it to create a creepy background for the skulls.
Using Layers, I put the skulls on the blood red textured bark background. It looks dramatic and effective.
My grandfather did some lessons for me on Skype to show me how to .....in Photoshop. After that I was able to learn myself or to use YouTube tutorials for a particular technique or if I couldn't find the function easily.
Photoshopping Grim Reaper. Discovered tools Puppet wrap which makes the edges smoother when you cut out a shape and Sharpen.
I did a drawing of a green faced eyes popping out Grim Reaper.
I used a photograph I took at the Among The Trees exhibition of a green murky fish tank (Mariele Neudecker's And Then the World Changed Colour: Breathing Yellow), zoomed in, cropped it and used it as a background for this scary Grim Reaper. I faded him to make him look even scarier.
To define edges in Photoshop I learnt how to use Auto Enhance, it detects the edges automatically instead of having to draw around the object yourself. (insert images). Before learning this it would take me a long time to cut the images out.
I did a horse skull drawing lesson with my cartoon drawing teacher, horses heads are difficult to draw. Then using the drawing I made a horse headed Grim Reaper.
On my own in Photoshop I learnt how to use the Mixer Brush Tool, Pencil Tool and Paint Bucket Tool to create a black background, a "steamy" 3D hood and a "big pixellated" effect on the bone of the skull.
I do a lot of art webinars with Art Enthusiasts London. To tie in with the exhibition I visited I did a
n Andy Warhol Elephant art webinar. The elephant is drawn but appears printed, like an Andy Warhol screenprint.
I did a skull using Hama beads...
... then in Photoshop I changed it a lot.
