Do you really need a degree to be successful?

A short blog about university degrees, discussing if they enable you to be successful.

Do you really need a degree to be successful?

Yes, university can make you successful but no, it does not mean that success comes from a degree, so this question is more complicated than it seems.

To answer this question, you must consider the advantages of university; it allows for independence and it can alter your outlook on the world as an individual. University also issues opportunities, allowing for flourishment and creativity through the internships that it provides. A degree from a university is necessary for a career path. There are lots of occupations that require a university degree, such as a doctor or a teacher, preparing you for your future job. As well as that, networking is a result of a university degree, which is a great way to further a career.

Even though there are evidently positive facets to a university degree, success can still be achieved without a university degree. In terms of financial success, this requires a good job. Employers may look for specific abilities and skills that are adaptable to what they looking for, rather than a university degree. Additionally, ad watching, which can make you £100 per day, and affiliate marketing, which provides £500 per day, are great ways to earn money, reinforcing the idea that financial success and university aren't intertwined. Also, university creates a lot of debt and even if you graduate, it is not guaranteed that you will get a job specified for the career that you want. Therefore, university may not result in success.

So ... what does this mean? That university isn't worth it? That success does come from a university degree? Well, yes and no. What you want is something you should consider. If you would like to pursue the university route, you should think about your career in the future and research how to get there. If you are not taking the university route, you should take many online courses and build up your CV. However, it is important to remember that there isn't a set formula for success
