‘My Own Worst Enemy’: Astraea challenges her inner critic

A haunting piano ballad featuring sparse electronic elements, the latest release from Astraea’s upcoming EP is a challenge to her inner demons and her inner critic.

Following in the footsteps of previous single, ‘Nobody Loves Me Like You’, which earned the musician, producer and performer comparisons to the legendary Kate Bush. As a woman working in the music industry, Astraea has often come up against barriers in her fight to the top. Some of those barriers might even come from inside her head, something which she addresses on this latest track.

Lyrical storytelling and delicate production comes together in the track, which details Astraea’s own personal struggles with anxiety, translating and transmitting them to listeners who may be struggling with similar concerns.

The song has this feeling of care and concern surrounding it, and Astraea’s intentions are continually made clear in the production tutorials she puts on her social media feed.
