I really enjoyed my trip to watch The Lion King it is a show which has everything from drama, great costumes, singing, props the whole package. As part of the audience you feel like you part of the show.
It starts by animals arriving on stage from all corners of the theatre so you feel fully involved from the beginning. The whole stage moves and makes you feel immersed into the world of The Lion King.The way the stage moves is really clever to bring to life the different scenes. The costumes are elaborate and have great detail which makes them so true to life it is hard to remember it humans playing animals. As well as the costumes the make up is incredible using it to really bring the characters to life.
The actors have really researched their characters/animals and have worked hard to re-create the animals into the story. Their facial expressions, body language is everything as you would expect a certain animal to act, every actor capturing the true likeness of their animal character.
I left the theatre feeling amazed. wowed and inspired and am looking forward to using some of these skills in my drama pieces.
