This post is for those interested in community heritage as well as delivering workshops and educational programmes/activities for a wide range of audiences. This will include family learning, schools, and community groups to enable access to our digital archive collection.
Purpose of Post
The purpose of the traineeship is to train suitable candidates in a broad range of digital heritage skills, in order to be able to progress into roles within community organisations undertaking heritage projects.
Context of the Post
The traineeship will be hands on training, work experience and project development and delivery. It will be supported by training days, assessments, and support. It will involve working to a work plan, with communities, individuals, and with archive and community organisations. The trainees will be working alongside a project coordinator and a digital archivist to co-create and co-design community programme to engage the public with ECH digital Archive.
Training
Trainees will complete the accredited Level 3 Diploma in Cultural Heritage. In addition they will also receive training in:
- Oral History
- Developing resources for workshops and intergenerational sessions
- A range of multi media
- Supporting volunteers
- Using and supporting digital archive resources
- Diversity
Key Areas
- To undertake accredited and non-accredited training as required, and complete all assignments/assessment tasks set;
- To work as part of the Eastside Community Heritage team, carrying out a range of tasks relating to accessing digital archives (this may also include collecting oral histories, transcribing, running workshops, stalls and events, producing exhibitions, preparing materials for our digital archives archiving material etc.)
