LGBTQ+ Facilitators for one-off Art Day

Hiring one or more artists to teach a workshop for adults in any medium with the results of the workshop going into an exhibition for LGBT+ History Month 2023, the theme of which is 'Behind the Lens'

LGBTQ+ Facilitators for one-off Art Day

Job Description

North Camden Zone are looking for one or more artists to lead a workshop as part of their LGBTQ+ Art Day. LGBTQ+ Art Day takes place on Saturday 21st January 2023 at the Winch (21 Winchester Road, NW3 3NR). It is a part of the Community Creates programme, delivered by North Camden Zone and Hampstead Theatre, and run in collaboration with Forum+.

They are looking for artists of any medium (although they already have someone delivering a lino print workshop and someone else delivering a poetry session) to lead a workshop with a group of adult participants, all who access the session for free and come from the local areas of Camden and Islington. Participants do not have to identify as LGBTQ+ to take part. Workshops will be between 1 hour and 1.5 hours in length and are paid at a rate of £90 - £105 (depending on length). They hope that by the end of the workshop, participants will have created some art which can be displayed in Belsize Community Library for our LGBTQ+ History Month Exhibition. The theme of LGBTQ+ History Month 2023 is 'Behind the Lens'.

They particularly welcome applications from those identifying as LGBTQ+, disabled people and those from racialised communities and/or working class backgrounds, as these groups are currently underrepresented within the arts sector.

They hope the whole day will have a celebratory feel, with participants hopefully attending more than one workshop and mingling between workshop leaders and participants.

To apply or find out more, please send an email to [email protected] with a few short paragraphs detailing your chosen art form, your experience delivering workshops and what interests you about delivering this session. Following this, you may be invited to a short (15-20 minute) informal Zoom interview.

We will be considering applications on a rolling basis so please do get in touch with us as soon as you are able. Thank you!
