Are you great with customers, but looking for something a little bit different? Grand Opera House in York are looking for people with great customer service skills to join their ticketing and sales team over the Christmas period. This role is a temporary, fixed-term role to support their teams over their busy Christmas period and they present shows on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year's Eve. They are looking for new members to join their team from mid-November 2022 to mid-January 2023.
Whether it’s a special birthday, or a night out with friends, every visit is important. They work hard to make sure each customer leaves with those unique memories you can only get from a live show…and that they want to return again and again!
As a Customer Service Host you'll help them achieve this, by offering customer support from their Box Office for up to 90 minutes before each show begins. You'll answer queries about the production, the theatre, and the local vicinity, resolve ticket queries and make sales of the additional products and services that enhance our audiences' visit to the theatre - from TheatreCard memberships and gift vouchers to food & beverage packages. Once the show is up and running, you'll join the Front of House team for the remainder of your shift.
Full of variety, this role is both fun and challenging. You’ll take responsibility for a range of tasks as part of a friendly, passionate and ambitious team, working in our unique theatre with an ever-changing programme of events.
Previous experience in theatre is not required and they actively encourage applications from people from the widest range of backgrounds, including those currently under-represented in this industry. Please note that as the role may include the sale and service of alcohol you must be aged 18 or over.
