Black Country Living Museum is one of Europe’s most successful open-air museums. Their strategic view is that their success originates from being an independent heritage business, and giving equal weight to our purpose as a museum, a charity, and a visitor attraction. The Museum is also regularly used for TV and film locations, and hosts some fantastic seasonal and themed events including our 1940s Weekend and Peaky Blinders Nights. They are currently embarking upon the single largest development in our 40-year history with a multi-million pound investment to take our story into the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

The Museum offers exciting and meaningful experiences for a variety of audiences via our programme of themed holidays, public events, and special tours. As a Marketing Administrator you will support our award-winning Audience & Communications team with:

  • Implementation of marketing campaigns, both online and offline.
  • The delivery of marketing projects.
  • Responding to comments, reviews and messages received on the Museum’s social media platforms and dedicated marketing inbox.
  • Delivering updates on the Museum’s website, including publishing digital content, drafting/re-purposing copy for the web and uploading content for internal stakeholders.
  • Recording data from analytical reports for the Museum’s digital activity, including for social media, email and Google.
  • Research into trends in digital media, where relevant (focusing on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok in particular).

You will support the team in driving the visibility of the Museum across all channels. You will also contribute to multimedia campaigns that support the promotion of our events, outreach and learning programme, as well as assist in raising public awareness and understanding of our major capital development ‘Forging Ahead’.

They are keen to hear from marketing professionals who can make an immediate impact and whose experience includes all of the above as well as strong copy writing and proof reading, web management, digital advertising skills.

The Museum is based in the heart of the Black Country’s regeneration zone, with good road, rail, and shortly metro links. They are within good commutable distance from many of the surrounding counties, including Worcestershire and Staffordshire.

As well as financial rewards, the Museum offers a truly invigorating and supportive work environment with a positive attitude to work life balance.

Interested candidates should apply with a CV and, critically, a brief supporting statement outlining the relevance of your application.
