Museums at Night: Chalk or Cheese?

About this event

Starts: Wednesday 11 May 2016 7:00 PM

Ends: Wednesday 11 May 2016 9:00 PM

At: Museum of English Rural Life (MERL), University of Reading, Redlands Road, Reading, England

Two huge wall hangings created for the 1951 Festival of Britain depicting the counties of Kent and Cheshire have been conserved during MERL’s redevelopment. One of them will feature in a new, purpose-built gallery when the museum reopens, and we’re asking the public to choose which one!

Join us at this special Museums at Night event, organised by the MERL Student Panel, designed to help you decide which way to vote! Learn more about the wall hangings and the two counties they represent, with special displays, fun activities, and regional food and drinks to sample!
