Join artist Andrew Howe as he takes you on a walking tour around the stunning Witley Court and Gardens and the In Ruins exhibition, to find inspiration for artworks on the theme of the ruin – something that has inspired artists for centuries.

Join artist Kay Mullett for a trip around the In Ruins exhibition, then create a utopian home, garden, or landscape, inspired by the work of Alex Hartley and the story of spectacular ruin, Witley Court.

In partnership with English Heritage, Meadow Arts presents In Ruins – an ambitious art exhibition in the extraordinary ruins of Witley Court in Worcestershire, focusing on our enduring attraction to ruins and how they are still relevant today.

Open to the public and especially relevant to artists, curators, architects and potential commissioners, this talk and discussion will take place in The Hive and will conclude with a tour of the work, The Long Afternoon of Earth, created after spending time working with the library and the University of Worcester.

To celebrate Heather and Ivan Morison’s The Long Afternoon of Earth residency at the Hive, Meadow Arts is running a drop-in art workshop for the whole family at The Hive on Saturday 12th May  in the Children’s Library, from 11am-2pm. 

Heather and Ivan Morison's The Long Afternoon of Earth is a new series of sculptures, ‘growing’ in the spaces of The Hive in Worcester, the first joint university and public library in Europe.

Never Judge a Book... poetry and music from books

Have you ever made music with books, or created art and poetry from book pages? Meadow Arts is bringing artists Emily Wilkinson and Sterly & Snell's Sound Books Project to Richard Booth's Bookshop in Hay-on-Wye for free interactive book workshops and a performance on Saturday 16th July.

You can also visit the last weekend of contemporary art exhibition, Never Judge a Book... featuring big name artists, whose work explores the book as object and material.

A series of free talks by acclaimed contemporary artists The Boat Studio, Keith Wilson, Alison Wilding and Mike Cooter at University of Worcester's Garage Studios, in partnership with Meadow Arts.
