Cullam Review - Black Veil Brides

I have chosen to review Black Veil Brides "Goodbye Agony".

The music video starts with a very gothic "Hellish" look and the band appear with flames and chains. This is where the guitar riff starts and the drums come in. The singer starts surrounded by flames and we see the unfolding story and of a girl and a boy having a secret meeting. This story continues and it shows them at school in a picture of everyday life then the video turns dark as they enter a secret tomb with a coffin set before them. A figure appears (The Lord of Darkness), they open the coffin, and the lead singer is inside.

I thin the main point of the video is that the singer is burying an old version of himself. There is religious symbolism all the way through the video and the band are known for their take on the dark side of religion. The flames signify hell and the chains symbolise their desire to be free of ageing and the shackles of this life.

I like the video because it's hard rock and it goes perfectly with the song. I like the way that it is shot in slow motion and that it concentrates on each member of the band individually. I like the fact that it's not a straight rock video but that it tells a really interesting story.
