I’ve always wanted to go to the Royal Albert Hall so my mum finally went online and found this Classical Spectacular and got us tickets so we could see what it looks like inside.
I saw a Classical Spectacular featuring different pieces by different composers performed by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra had ‘a lot’ of musicians that all have names that I’ve never known.
I was sitting at the very bottom but the view was still amazing. There were lots of chairs both on and off the stage. We were one of the first people to take our seats and before the theatre was full, music had already started playing. It sounded like it was coming from a speaker.
I couldn’t even believe it was live.
I can play the piano and the violin so I’m pretty good with music and that was basically all about music. I really enjoyed the lights and how they made them move, creating a little show by themselves, but I mostly liked the brass and string instruments and how they were really important to create an affect. Although most of the Spectacular was amazing, I dreaded the opera bits and the long oooaaaaaaoooooooouuuuus they included.
My favourite pieces were Jupiter from: The Planets and Clair de Lune.
I learnt that I do not get bored out on concerts anymore, especially if it involves light shows. I also learnt a little more about conductors, What they actually do and how important they are. It may seem crazy but before I thought that the conductors job was to announce the names of pieces, who the composers are and just randomly wave a stick, like the music teacher at my at my old school, most of the time she didn’t actually do anything, she just made it look like it.
I loved the experience a lot, or at least most of it, because of how magical it sounded and how it didn’t make me want to fall asleep of boredom.
Oh wow. Love the appreciation for classical music.
