I Will Carry You Over Hard Times

This show was featured in Sweet St. Andrews Church - and from going there last year, I knew I was guaranteed a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. However, the Box Office was in The Southern Belle pub opposite the church, which was a bit different.

Upon entering the church and taking my seat, I noticed that the stage was bare of any props, so assumed that maybe I was in for a miming show.

I was only half wrong.

A performer soon came onto the stage with various instrument sticks, and proceeded to tire himself running between gongs, a bass drum and a xylophone - but here is the twist: there were no actual instruments!

Instead, audio of said instruments played whenever the performer moved the appropriate stick. It was so immersive that me and the other audience members stayed quiet for the entire performance. The imaginary instruments were played with precision and detail, making each note sound amazing.

Despite how exhausting it appeared, he stuck through the whole performance before having to run off because he had a flight in two hours - the poor guy.

Overall, it was an interesting and breathtaking experience and I recommend this show to anyone who likes to listen to different types of music.

I love it when musicians think outside the box.
