Applications open for Boom 21/22 Professional development scheme

Oxford Contemporary Music has opened applications once again to their annual artist development programme. The successful applicants will have access to training and support from the OCM in researching and producing new works for unconventional spaces.

The six-month programme runs from November 2021 - April 2022, and the four successful artists and producers will be awarded a £1,500 budget for research and development, access to mentoring, networking events with arts organisations, and introductions to organisations and potential partners for future works.

Ideal candidate’s works should be playful and experimental, reframing everyday spaces in new and exciting ways, while reflecting upon the social interests and concerns of the surrounding communities.

Development is at the core of this program, and OCM is interested in hearing from artists who aim to explore new and exciting ideas outside of traditional spaces and be unafraid to push the boundaries of their creativity.

Applications may be for solo artists, groups, or producers at any stage of their career. Successful artists will have sound and music at the core of their practice and have a passion for developing their craft.

As part of equal opportunities, Oxford Contemporary Music welcomes applications from any age, gender, ethnicity, belief. With an aim to address underrepresentation OCM encourages applications from those who identify as part of the Global Majority.
