Chol Theatre is looking for a small number of enthusiastic, pro-active 16-24 year olds with an interest in the arts and social justice, to join our paid Young Producer's scheme. You'll work alongside artists and producers to create and deliver a performance in Sheffield city centre for Spring 2024.
This production will be about combating marginalised gender biases of all forms. Alongside a team of people who work in the arts, you'll shape and create a new show that will be performed to a live audience. They will support you to create powerful work that makes people think and that promotes positive change.
They'd love to hear from 16-24 year olds, who have left secondary education and can commit at least 4 hours a week to this role
People based in and around Sheffield (or able to commute)
Enthusiastic, creative individuals with a love of storytelling
You do NOT need to have training in performance or art but you should have an interest in either / or both
People who get things done
You should believe in kindness, equality and supporting your peers.
Your orientation, or how you personally identify won't play a part in the selection process for this position
This is a combination of work placement and mentoring.
As a Chol Young Producer, you'll be working alongside our Producers and associate Artists, helping with a variety of tasks, that may involve;
- project planning / creating a timeline and assigning tasks to different people
- fundraising / budgeting
- research and development (R&D)
- script writing
- casting / acting / directing
- set / costume design
- marketing
- risk assessments and applying for licences
