Folkestone Performing Arts Company are looking for one early career workshop facilitator assistant to support the delivery of their weekly applied theatre workshops. These workshops are for refugees and asylum seekers living at Napier Barracks, and take place at the Tower Theatre, Folkestone. The role is attached to a mentorship programme where you get monthly mentor meetings with the lead practitioners.
Supported by Art Council England, Tower Theater, Folkestone Performing Arts Company, Napier Friends, & CounterPoint Arts.
Job Description
- Attend and support the delivery of workshops and sharings
- Attend regular planning meetings with lead facilitators throughout the project
- Managing the registry and assist with data collection for evaluation
- Attend 6 mentorship meetings throughout the project
Personal Specification
Preference will be given to:
- Migrant/refugee/asylum seeker background
- Interest in applied theatre and working with an international team
- Experience working in theatre, the performing arts industry, teaching, or workshop leading
- Experience of assisting in delivery of workshops/teaching
- A passion for engaging people in the arts
- Good time management
Key Dates and Times
Workshops:
10:00-12 noon Wednesdays 8th May - 19th June
And 10:00 - 12 noon 4th September - 25th September.
Meeting Dates TBD.
Fee
Project fee: £500
[24 hours of workshops, 12 hours of meetings & four hours of prep = 40 hours in total @ £12.50/hour]
