Design Department Intern

Are you a young Graphic Designer, typographer looking for your first step into book publishing..?

Do you love architecture, popular culture, history and fashion… and books….? Want to join the School of Dolphins? (Thames & Hudson's Design Department)

They're looking for someone keen to learn and who is brimming with clever ideas.

You'll be:

Organised and a stickler for detail.

Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Totally familiar with Adobe Creative Suite.

A dab-hand with a ruler and scalpel and good at sticking things together - neatly!

Ready to start now!

In return for your 6 month commitment and helping the team, they'll provide a paid opportunity to see the whole book publishing cycle through from beginning to end, and a rare opportunity to quiz everyone in the building about what they are doing and why.

At the end of your 6 months if you are motivated enough and curious enough you should have gained a good understanding of how some of the most interesting visual books are designed, produced and published.

…..And you may even get some new design work you'll feel proud to put in your portfolio.

This is an exciting chance to work on a wide variety of beautiful and innovative projects and to gain invaluable experience and understanding of all aspects of the publishing process, from initial proposals to printed books.
