The Mighty Creatives (TMC) won the Best Service Delivery Innovation category at the Third Sector Awards 2023.
The award commemorates TMC's Creative Mentoring service which aims to provide support for children and young people who face disadvantages. TMC adapted the scheme in light of the cost-of-living crisis to provide extra mentors. TMC also introduced employability support in response to the cost-of-living crisis through the Mighty Employers Network and also provided a free pre-employability service, Employ ME.
The process of adaptation and innovation in light of economic challenges involved regular consultations and focus groups with partners and the youth board. TMC also commissioned four young artists to work with young people with lived experiences of need to identify how widespread social and economic challenges could be met by the organisation.
