Well-loved author Khaled Hosseni has created an illustrated short work of fiction response to the current refugee crisis. Written in the form of a letter from a farther to his son, this moving book explores how their home has changed to a war zone and the dangerous journey that lies ahead.

NYPL Reads

New York Public Library has given a whole new meaning to Instagram stories. Tapping into the huge popularity of the social media channel, they have created a striking visual experience and literary experiment by condensing three short novellas into bite-size chunks for online and social consumption. Try Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Metamorphosis and The Yellow Wallpaper.

Man Booker Shortlist

The biggest prize in the UK will be whittling down the long-list to just six authors. Announced on 20th September, keep an eye out as these will be the most talked about books of the season.

Sarah Waters' historical Gothic ghost story will hit the big screen this month, just in time for darker nights as Halloween approaches. Fans of Waters' are sure to be flocking to see this and if you haven't yet read the book now is the perfect time to pick it up.

Vanity Fair

Autumn is approaching which means it's the perfect season to escape from the cold and settle in for a cosy classic adaptation. This year, Vanity Fair will be hitting our screens on ITV at 9pm on Sundays.
