We are told we are living in a liberated world but being a woman comes with rules. Being an Indian woman definitely comes with rules. Education, a good job, marriage, kids blah blah blah. What happens when you don’t fit that narrative? What happens if you refuse to fit that narrative? What about if you all you want to do is crash through that glass ceiling and not worry about the biological clock ticking (that everyone else seems to hear so loud). Sometimes you have to craft your own reality but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Especially when the world doesn’t understand what it means to be a woman. Especially when the world doesn’t understand what it means to be a brown woman. Especially when you are shamed for being women.
