For Kaysien, music means more than just music and is an art that allows him to express himself. His new EP 'Elements' made of 4 tracks is a perfect example.
Having needled numerous threads of inspiration across 2022 the four tracks are each a snapshot of an ancestral string plucked, tuned and released. He attributes much of this to his mixed-race heritage (Afro-Indo Caribbean/English). Performing all of the instruments alongside the writing, arranging and mixing Kaysien is an artisan who believes in integrity building a reputation as one of the UKs most authentic and original Artists.
Produced out of his studio in West London, Kaysien crosses multiple genres creating a sound uniquely his own consisting of 2 solo piano tracks, and a groove hard to pin down. The lead single (and last track on the EP) ‘Fire’ mashes up Caribbean rhythms with a weighty piano riff, a side order of rootsy groove and a chant-like vocal based on a raw emotive expression.
