London based musician Zofia Alaya has taken a slight change in direction with new single Cold. Previously the singer-songwriter had stuck to more pop driven sounds mixed with house beats; Cold, however, features a classic pop style of singing with a rocker edge that makes it more palatable while still keeping the original personality, incorporating infectious guitar and featuring a more impressive vocal performance that  takes inspiration from the 70s hippie movement and the sounds of folklore. This new track is perfect for anyone that's a fan of artists such as Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo or perhaps even Lauran Hibbard.

Barbara - A Perishing of Cherished Things

Meet your new favourite band. If you’ve ever wondered what a mid-life crisis would sound like in the seventies, this song is waiting for you to wrap your ears around it. Barbara are a Brighton based duo who are pulling musical inspiration from the likes of The Beatles. Creating modern yet nostalgic sounds, their new track A Perishing of Cherished Things incorporates dreamy pop, layering synths and a willingness to be playful that will instantly transport you to summers gone by and a whole load of flared trousers and glorious garish patterns.

Ruth Lyon - Black Hole

Newcastle based artist Ruth Lyon has returned with her brand new single Black Hole, a wonderfully dark and mysterious track that makes use of her hauntingly powerful vocals. The soundscape uses elements of Jazz, soul and RnB, providing the ultimate soundtrack for any breakup or rainy day and this new track is perfect for fans of artists such as Celeste or Naneh Cherry. Its focus on the whimsical and mellow backing along the perfect pinch of attitude vocally makes this a really exciting new release.

slimdan - Politics and Party Tricks

Politics and Party Tricks was born out of social anxiety and the fear of missing out, but its catchy, steady melody and influence of Pop Punk and bedroom indie pop makes it a great contender for the top spot in any playlist. Slimdan, aka Danny Silberstein, is a US-based artist making waves in the music industry, already writing a host of songs for other artists. The new track is taken from his upcoming EP ‘to anyone who cares’ and serves as a dreamy wanderlust narration on the difficulties in life. If you’re looking for something new to check out and are a fan of artists like Boy Pablo or Hippocampus, slimdan is definitely your new go-to!
