Smooth and classic: Zoe Scott turns her hand to bossanova on ‘Shades of Love’ album
Stevie Wonder is more often associated with other musical genres than bossanova. So too, are Amy Winehouse, The Beatles and The Pretenders. However, Zoe Scott is aiming to present these well-known songs and artists in a new light, with her new bossanova album - Shades of Love.
Working with Brazilian producer Moogie Canazio - who had 10 Grammy’s with some the finest Brazilian jazz players in the world, including Daniel Jobim the son of Antonio Carlos Jobim (who wrote ‘Girl from Ipanema’) - Scott is clearly holding nothing back in her quest to release some of the most authentically true and soothing music this Autumnal season.
The mood is both upbeat and relaxed, with a focus on the traditional techniques and chord progressions of Brazillian jazz. This is the mark of the beginnings of a true star of jazz music - following in the footsteps of the likes of Norah Jones and Katie Melua.
Shades of Love is out everywhere now.
