Hilary Roberts has never been one to shy away from making music with a message. Whether it’s the feel-good ‘Good Man’, an upbeat takedown of toxic masculinity, or ‘Fight To The Other Side’, an emotional ballad about overcoming suicidal tendencies, Roberts has always used her platform for good, and ‘Just Let Go’ is no different.
Fifty percent of the proceeds earned from ‘Just Let Go’ will go towards The Red Songbird Foundation’s efforts to help those affected by COViD-19. This act is in keeping with Roberts’ previous philanthropic efforts, something which is at the centre of who Hilary Roberts is as a performer and musician.
The song itself is cheerful, upbeat and uplifting - and great to dance along to, even if you only have a few feet square of space! The lyrics tackle the "letting go" of any stress which the lockdown may have caused, and simply living in the moment, at least as much as is possible right now.
The video accompanying it sees key workers dancing along to the song, smiling - Hilary Roberts clearly wants to ensure that everyone possible feels welcome and honoured in this video.
