y view of the show was really good as we sat in the balcony which let me see all of the stage and what was happening. I wasn't that excited about watching the performance, as I had watched the film and another production of Grease at another theatre before, so I thought the show would be very predictable and I would get bored during the performance. After the first half, I was surprised as the show was different to the previous one I watched as the set, costumes and choreography were different so I was intrigued to what was going to happen during the second half.
The set stayed similar throughout the whole performance but different props were added or taken away to match the scene aspects. For example, there was a big set of stairs that split into two and were moved around the stage to suit the different settings in the performance.
What I enjoyed about the show was how curve changed some aspects of the choreography and story to make it different and unique whilst not forgetting the iconic parts of the film or musical. One of my favourite parts of the show was the 'Hand Jive' part as it was very fast and upbeat and had a lot of energetic dance which made it exciting. As well as that, I also like the solo 'Hopelessly Devoted to You' by Sandy because it showed another side to the story as this was a lot slower and there was only one person on the stage which made it more calm than the other numbers as they were very fast and full of choreography with a lot of backing dancers.
Overall I would watch Grease again as I really enjoyed it and found it interesting because the story was the same but parts were changed to make it different so I hadn't seen the same interpretation of it before. It also showed me another side to performing that not all of it has to be slow and serious but it can be fun and upbeat
Grease is such a classic musical. Makes me want to live in 50s as a teenager!
